{{ :family:curly-thumb.png |What a great little dog!}} We adopted Curly from the pound. [[Elsie]] loves pound pets, because they are usually very appreciative of having a good, loving family to live with. Curly was definitely no exception! I was in the field for a two-week field problem, and I called home on my cell phone on the day we came back in from the field to let [[Elsie]] know that I was on my way home. She said she had a surprise for me, and since we had been talking about getting a dog (to go with the 2 cats [[Elsie]] had) I just knew what was waiting for me. When I walked in, little Curly saw me and took off running! I guess he had been abused by another soldier in the past. For the first few months he would run away from me when I was in my uniform, but he eventually got used to me and now he's my little buddy. He likes to sit in my lap when I'm on the computer. He's a really good little dog. [[Elsie]] and the kids said that as soon as they saw him they knew he was our dog. He looks a lot like my Mom's dog [[Sugar]] and he has one crooked little front leg. He needed a home after being out on the mean streets of Killeen! Curly has passed on a while back. He got out of the yard and we hope he found a nice family with kids to take care of him, but he probably got eaten by coyotes or picked up by the pound.
